Public Works Department

Our Public Works Department is the backbone of day-to-day operations across our municipality. Though small in number, our dedicated team delivers an exceptional level of service to a road network and community that spans more than 500 km².

Our Team

The department consists of:

  • Two full-time employees

  • One to two seasonal or part-time operators (as required)

With years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of our local infrastructure, our team brings skill, reliability, and pride to every project. Their knowledge of our roads, facilities, and systems ensures efficient service and practical solutions for our residents.

Award-Winning Service

Our team’s hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Over the years, they have earned several industry recognitions, including the Manitoba Good Roads Association 2024 Toromont CAT Shield Award for Most Improved Municipal Roads – District 3.

This prestigious award highlights our department’s commitment to improving road quality, safety, and long-term infrastructure management across our municipality.

What We Do

Our responsibilities cover a wide range of essential services, including:

  • Building maintenance for municipal facilities

  • Signage repair and replacement

  • Roadside mowing and vegetation management

  • Road grading and snow plowing across an extensive rural road network

  • Culvert installation and drainage maintenance

  • Bridge repairs and inspections

  • Community well maintenance

From summer roadwork to winter snow clearing, our team works year-round to maintain safe, reliable infrastructure for everyone who lives, works, and travels through our municipality.
