In saying so, the R.M of Cornwallis will currently allow fires in certified appliances, but only if: Used according to manufacturer’s guidelines; and, used safely and legally within municipal and provincial regulations. Even with certified appliances, burning is discouraged when wind speeds exceed 25km/h. However, the following is still in effect until further notice: -Complete ban on ALL motorized back-country vehicles, including ATVs, at all hours within the municipality. -ALL open forms of burning are strictly prohibited within the municipality during this time. This includes, but is not limited to, fireworks; and, the burning of grass, leaves, crop residue, and bushes. -Exercise caution when outdoors. Prevent equipment caused wildfires: * Keep machinery clean and in good repair. Avoid driving/parking in long cured grass.
