Public Notice to Chater Utility Users

On Saturday, September 9, 2017 an incident occurred at the Chater Truck Fill.  Due to rapid response it was determined that a small amount of fertilizer was rinsed out onto the surface of the truck fill area.

Office of Drinking Water was notified and they attended the site on September 9, 2017.  Water samples were taken and the municipality was instructed close the truck fill and to remove the contaminated gravel from the truck fill area.

On Monday, September 11, 2017 Office of Drinking Water once again attended the site and proceeded to take additional water samples for testing. 

The Office of Drinking Water has advised the RM that they do not suspect any immediate impact to the water supply and on-going monitoring will continue.

The truck fill will remain closed at this time.
